I Feel Terrible - The Occult

If you fish in a polluted pond you will eventually get sick, and over time the poison will kill you. Why feed your soul with wickedness?
Much of the occult is based on a "false intellect" that leads to confusion, placing fear in your sub-conscience. It is the work of the devil and not of the universe or anything else. Toying with anything from tarot reading to spells will literally ruin your life for many years. You will have to go through unlearning a lot of the evil things you practice, this is no game. If you are a teenager do not let pride be your downfall, the occult will wreck your life. Do not play with this garbage you WILL SUFFER from it. If you have done any occult repent and throw away anything related to it, get the sin out of the camp as soon as possible. Some warfare will happen after that but keep faith in Jesus and fight it with faith in Christ.

The Defiling of Your Soul

From my own experience I STRONGLY urge you to get OUT and seek Jesus for deliverance, the side effects will get worse and it will plague your life until you die. The occult is any method of trying to tap into the supernatural or the unknown. Consider a Psychic or Medium, one who claims to predict the future and another who claims to contact the dead. A psychic can not predict the future, it is only possible by God (2 Peter 1:21) For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit [NIV]. Nor can a medium consult the dead because the dead are not roaming around (Hebrews 9:27). If you have used these methods at any time in your life you have opened the door to Satan and given him permission into your life. It seems harmless doesn't it? Of course, but Satan runs around looking like an angel of light (2 Corinthians 11:14).

Mediums and spiritist will defile you (Leviticus 19:31), you are also prostituting your soul by following them (Leviticus 20:6), even Saul died for being unfaithful to the LORD and consulted a medium for guidance (1 Chronicles 10:14).

Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. (1 Peter 5:8).

Bondage and Oppression

You may not realize this now but you will later; The occult puts you under bondage and oppression of the devil and evil spirits. The occult opens a door for the evil to enter your spirit and it gives the devil a foothold and a stronghold (Ephesians 4:27). The occult always comes with pride to seek out power for yourself. Small side effects will feel like: life is an illusion, nothing is real, nothing matters, and you will go through many cycles of terrible feelings, many similarities to Hinduism. The ultimate goal of Satan is to kill you. Everyone that has practiced the occult gets a spirit assigned to them to confuse, oppress, and of encourage suicide. These evil spirits are very real and they can destroy your life, you may not even know you have demons but the Holy Spirit can reveal this to you if you are a Christian. God is not the author of confusion, but of peace. You will never have peace and joy from the devil, nothing but lies that warp your mind. Forinication is also a dangerous thing as you become one in flesh with another person, you need to break soul ties.

The devil is crafty and deceitful, above all a liar. He speaks his native language when he lies, there is no truth in him (John 8:44). Whether you think you are finding knowledge and you may have unraveled the deep mysteries of life you must understand the devil only leads you into confusion and you may think you know something, but you do not know as you ought to (1 Corinthians 8:2). God is the author of peace, wisdom, and knowledge; not of confusion (1Corinthians 14:33).

Why walk a tight rope over a lava pit when there is a bridge already built for you by the cross of Jesus Christ?

The side-effects of playing around with evil spirits is a heavy price. Your dreams are haunted, you may see evil spirits, you hear voices, even a spirit of fear will can infect you. This is not a joke. This is terrifying bondage. Freedom appears far off which often convinces one that suicide is the cure. The devil has come to kill, steal, and destroy (John 10:10).

Breaking the Yoke

The good news is that there is freedom and restoration. As deep as you've gone, Jesus goes deeper. As dark as you've gone, Jesus shines further. His ways to free your soul might feel like foolishness, but this is how often God works. The Son of God, Jesus Christ, destroyed the works of the devil (1 John 3:8). If you want freedom you will first face a war, but you will win because the Lord Jesus has defeated the works of the devil at the cross. Submit to God, and resist the devil and he will flee from you (James 4:7).

Remove and destroy any ouija boards, magic books, crystal balls, incense and anything relating to what you've practiced. When you destroy these things and remove them from your life you are demonstrating true repentence and showing God that you are serious and you want His freedom.

Be prepared for a battle! The devil will battle with you for a while when you turn to Jesus because he does not want you to find the truth which sets you free. The devil will lie and do everything he can from keeping you from God. To break the yoke and bondage start a water fast.

Isaiah 58:6
Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen: to loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke, to set the oppressed free and break every yoke? [NIV]

God is a deliverer, he came to seek and save that which was lost, to set the captives free. That is exactly what you are, a captive. If you want freedom, start a fast and demonstrate your faith to God. Work your way up in disciplining your body for God. This requires humility and submission to God. God will resist you if you are proud but He will give you grace if you humble yourself (Proverbs 3:34). If you do this in humility seeking the LORD by professing and possessing the word of the testimony and power of Jesus Christ, God will honor your fast. Be diligent and press in - when the battle in your mind and surroundings becomes difficult lift your head up and be encouraged, the devil always fights back when God is going to move.

The LORD Cares About You

The LORD comforts his people and will have compassion on his afflicted ones (Isaiah 49:13). His unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor will His covenant of peace be removed,the LORD has compassion on you (Isaiah 54:10).

Jeremiah 29:11
"'For I know the plans I have for you,’ says the Lord. ‘They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope'" [NIV]

The LORD also promises to restore the years the locusts have eaten! He will restore the years you have been defeated and destroyed in bondage and hopelessness (Joel 2:25). We have an Almighty, Holy, loving God and Savior Jesus Christ!

God desires you to open up to Him and surrender your heart to Him, he takes care of his children. You must be adopted into his family by repentance and becoming born again (John 3:3), confess Jesus is Lord and pray to be baptized by Holy Spirit and submit to His will and no longer your own!
