The Defiling of Your Soul

The occult is any method of trying to tap into the supernatural or the unknown. Consider a Psychic or Medium, one who claims to predict the future and another who claims to contact the dead. A psychic can not predict the future, it is only possible by God (2Peter 1:21) For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit [NIV]. Nor can a medium consult the dead because the dead are not roaming around (Hebrews 9:27) And as it is appointed to men once to die, but after this the judgment, [KJV]. If you have used these methods at any time you have opened the door to Satan and given him permission into your life. It seems harmless doesn't it? Of course, but Satan runs around looking like an angel of light (2Corinthains 11:14) And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. [NIV].

Mediums and spiritist will defile you (Leviticus 19:31) Do not turn to mediums or seek out spiritists, for you will be defiled by them. I am the LORD your God. [NIV], you are also prostituting your soul by following them (Leviticus 20:6) I will set my face against the person who turns to mediums and spiritists to prostitute himself by following them, and I will cut him off from his people. [NIV] and Saul died for being unfaithful to the LORD and consulted a medium for guidance (1Chronicles 10:13) Saul died because he was unfaithful to the LORD; he did not keep the word of the LORD and even consulted a medium for guidance, [NIV].

1 Peter 5:8

Bondage and Oppression

You may not realize this now but you will later; The occult puts you under bondage and oppression of the devil by evil spirits. The occult opens a door for the devil to enter your spirit and you have given the devil a foothold (Ephesians 4:27) and do not give the devil a foothold. [NIV]. The occult comes with pride. It feels like life is an illusion, nothing is real, nothing matters, and you will go through so many cycles of terrible feelings. The ultimate goal of satan is to kill you and everyone that has practiced the occult gets a spirit of confusion, oppression, and of death. These evil spirits are very real and they can destroy your life, you may not even know you have demons but the Holy Spirit can reveal this to you if you are a Christian. God is not the author of confusion, but of peace and a sound mind. You will never have peace and joy from the devil, nothing but lies that warp your mind. Forinication is also a dangerous thing as you become one in flesh with another person, you need to break soul ties.

The devil is crafty and deceitful, above all a liar. He speaks his native language when he lies, there is no truth in him (John 8:44) You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father's desire. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies. [NIV] . Whether you think you are finding knowledge and may have unraveled the deep mysteries of life you must understand the devil only leads you into confusion and you may think you know something, but you do not know as you ought to (1Corinthians 8:2) The man who thinks he knows something does not yet know as he ought to know. [NIV]. God is the author of peace, wisdom, and knowledge; not of confusion (1Corinthians 14:33) For God is not a God of disorder but of peace. As in all the congregations of the saints, [NIV].

Why walk a tight rope over a lava pit when there is a bridge already built for you by the cross of Jesus Christ?

The side-effects of playing around with evil spirits is a heavy price. Your dreams are haunted, you see evil spirits, you hear voices, and the like. It is not a joke, it is terrifying and freedom appears far off which often convinces one that suicide is the cure. The devil has come to kill, steal, and destroy (John 10:10) The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. [NIV].

Breaking the Yoke

The good news is that there is freedom and restoration. The Son of God, Jesus Christ, destroyed the works of the devil (1John 3:8) He who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil's work. [NIV]. If you want freedom you will face a war, but you will win because the Lord Jesus has defeated the works of the devil at the cross. Submit to God, and resist the devil and he will flee from you (James 4:7) Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. [NIV].

Remove and destroy any ouija boards, magic books, crystal balls, incense and anything relating to what you've practiced. When you destroy these things and remove them from your life you are demonstrating you are serious and want to find freedom.

Mark 9:29a
He replied, "This kind can come out only by prayer and fasting." [NIV]

Be prepared for a battle! the devil will fight when you turn to Jesus because he does not want you to find the truth as he wants to destroy what God loves, his people. To break the yoke and bondage start a fast.

Isaiah 58:6
Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen: to loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke, to set the oppressed free and break every yoke? [NIV]

God is a deliverer, he came to seek and save that which was lost, to set the captives free. If you want freedom, start a fast. Work your way up in disciplining your body for God. This requires humility and submission to God. God will resist you if you are proud but He will give you grace if you humble yourself (Proverbs 3:34) He mocks proud mockers but gives grace to the humble. [NIV]. If you do this in humility seeking the LORD by professing and possessing the word of the testimony and power of Jesus Christ, God will honor your fast. Be diligent and press in - when the battle in your mind and surroundings becomes difficult lift your head up and be encouraged, the devil always fights back when God is going to move.

The LORD Cares About You

The LORD comforts his people and will have compassion on his afflicted ones (Isaiah 49:13) Shout for joy, O heavens; rejoice, O earth; burst into song, O mountains! For the LORD comforts his people and will have compassion on his afflicted ones. [NIV]. His unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor will His covenant of peace be removed,the LORD has compassion on you (Isaiah 54:10) Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed, says the LORD, who has compassion on you. [NIV].

Jeremiah 29:11
"'For I know the plans I have for you,’ says the Lord. ‘They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope'" [NIV]

The LORD also promises to restore the years the locusts have eaten! He will restore the years you have been defeated and destroyed, in bondage and hopeless (Joel 2:25) I will repay you for the years the locusts have eaten- the great locust and the young locust, the other locusts and the locust swarm - my great army that I sent among you. [NIV]. We have an Almighty Holy loving God and Savior Jesus Christ!

God desires you to open up to Him and surrender your heart to Him, he takes care of his children. You must be adopted into his family by repentance and becoming born again (John 3:3) In reply Jesus declared, "I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again." [NIV] , confess Jesus is Lord and pray to be baptized by Holy Spirit and submit to His will and no longer your own!
