Hero's And Conqeurors

HBR313 (June 29th, 2005)

What a powerful verse...WE are more than conquerors. The Christian life is not an easy one and there are days like I wrote about yesterday that we feel beat down and discouraged. But through Christ our Savior we are MORE THAN CONQUERORS. This verse is so encouraging to me because it means that nothing in all creation can keep us down. We as Christians have Jesus by our side to defeat the evils of this world. If you look at the context of this verse and at the original translations, Paul is telling us that we are all heroes. We have super hero power. Now don't let me lose you here- I'm not saying we can disappear or shoot webs from our wrists.

What I'm saying is that we have more ability and power than the rest of the world because of who we rely on. God created each and every one of us with so much potential and ability that its astounding. When we accepted the sacrifice of Christ and God poured out his spirit upon us, we were given even more spiritual gifts. And my favorite part- THE BEST IS YET TO COME. God is continually working within us to perfect his love and power, and all we have to do is allow Him to do that work.

So on the days when you feel down and worthless, remember that we are more than conquerors through our amazing Savoir, Jesus Christ. There will be a better day and a greater prize waiting for us when we reach the end of our race. Don't give up, don't stay down, and don't lose faith. In Christ, God Bless.
