Safe Place
Jesse (May 18th, 2005)
I was in my driveway and I saw a small little toad that was wondering about on the pavement. I thought to myself, this toad doesn't belong here, the toad belongs in the grass where its damp and it can find bugs to survive. Chasing the frog for a short while, it was hopping away from me and was difficult to catch! I finally caught it trying to be as gentle as I could with it so I wouldn't hurt it. As careful as I could be, and as much as I scared this miniature toad, I was helping him. He was about 1/8 of and inch wide, he looked lost. So I thought I should help the little bugger.
Likewise, When God see's us wondering in a place we don't belong, He knows we won't last long in the place we are, so he goes after us. Sometimes to the point where God literally chases us, or we refuse to accept a helping hand causing us to end up less fulfilled as we could have been! As afraid or negligent to His intelligence as we can be, we like to lead our own way. We think that we can take care of ourselves without the help of something larger that see's the bigger picture.
Correction! As I could see about two-hundred times the distance this lost toad could, how much more can God can see with us? God wants to lead you in the right way, even when we are living by instinct and doing the "right thing", there is a bigger, better, more seeing knowledgeable resource available. Though all people are different, and some would let a toad wonder about and stay in the blazing sun on the pavement, our God is not different.
Our God is the same yesterday as he is today, He is the same to you as he is to me. He is always caring, always loving, always comforting. He doesn't want to see us afraid and lost in a place we don't belong, so he tries to help us. Why do we run? Maybe because we don't trust Him, or we think we know what's best for us. God is gentle, and he is caring, though its difficult to understand why he does things at certain times, he is doing it for your best. God will not do something that inevitably affects you negatively. It is written that we move from glory to glory, in other words from great to greater.
The purpose of this article is the explain; Don't be afraid when you feel a big movement appearing in your life,
God is a caretaker, he will place you where you belong. Even though I could only place this toad in grass 3 inches tall, the
Lord can provide us in dwellings beyond our expectations. Rely on yourself, and you may be running in that same circle you have
been your whole life! Rely on the Lord, and your horizons expand!
Remember, God is ALWAYS pursuing you. Try pursuing Him, and you will see supernatural
movement in your life!
