The word trinity will not be found anywhere in the Bible, it is a reference word that makes it easier to explain. Even though this seems hard to understand, we never change Scripture just because it does not suite us. Genesis 1:26 [KJV] And God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, after our likeness [..]"
There is only One and true God, but in the unity of the Godhead there are three coeternal and coequal manifestations. The three which are the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. In the verse below from John 1 we quickly learn that Jesus created everything, and He is eternal:
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. (2) He was in the beginning with God. (3)All things came into being through Him [..] (4)In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.
John 14:8-9 [NIV]
Philip said to him, "Lord, show us the Father, and that will satisfy us." Jesus said to him, "Have I been with you all this time, Philip, and you still do not know me? The person who has seen me has seen the Father. So how can you say, 'Show us the Father'?"
John 15:26 [NIV] "When the Counselor comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who goes out from the Father, he will testify about me."
There are quite a few verses throughout the Bible that line up with this, in Isaiah 9:6 we also read about a son is given to us, and he will be called Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace. That is prophecy about Jesus Christ. Another good example in the New Testament in Matthew 1:23 says that they will call the child Immanuel, which means "God with us."
"I, I am the LORD, and besides me there is no savior. I declared and saved and proclaimed, when there was no strange god among you; and you are my witnesses," declares the LORD, "and I am God."
1 Timothy 3:16
And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifested in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen by angels, preached among nations, believed on in the world, and received up into glory. [KJV]
How was Jesus on earth and God at the same time? I have no idea, I'm nobody to tell God how he should be, He is who He is!
The Holy Spirit is not some energy floating around but a manifestation of God that serves a purpose, he has emotions. He is referred to as: Teacher, Instructor, Counselor, Helper. The Holy Spirit has emotions because he can be grieved! (Ephesians 4:30)
Jesus refers to Holy Spirit as "he", a person seven times, which I find interesting as 7 is the number of perfection in the Bible as I understand. Another verse for example is 1 Corinthians 12:4-6 which speak about the gifts and workings of the Spirit, Lord, and God.
I hope these examples are sufficient for you, you can also check other translations if you are skeptical. Do not be misled by false religion that changes the Bible text in an attempt to put God in a box. We can not form God in our own image, God is who he is!
